
An Enfield man was arrested today after a search warrant was executed at a Freedom Street apartment.
City County Drug Task Force Agent D.C. Dickens said the arrest of Deshawn Johnson, 23, was based on an investigation on complaints of drug activity over the last couple of months at the residence.
Agents from the task force executed a search warrant shortly after 11 this morning.
Issuance of the search warrant was based on investigation by Dickens and information provided by Corporal C. Boden, a dog handler with the Halifax County Sheriff's Office, and information provided by residents in the community.
During the search of the residence with the assistance of canine Josh and his handler, Task Force Lieutenant Harold Phillips, agents located approximately 15.2 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia which included a digital scale.
During the search of a vehicle a Taurus handgun was seized.
Dickens arrested and charged Johnson with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon.
Johnson was given a $5,000 secured bond and March 25 court date.
