Already charged in the February armed robbery of a Roanoke Rapids store, Robert Duane Harris Jr. now faces charges for the theft of jewelry from a victim he was familiar with.
Halifax County Sheriff's Office Detective Obert Wiltsie said in a statement the 27-year-old man was served warrants for larceny and possession of stolen goods on Friday.
The warrants came as a result of a joint investigation by the sheriff's office and Roanoke Rapids Police Department.
The larceny report was filed on February 5 and occurred sometime in January, Wiltsie said this morning.
In addition to the charges reflecting the jewelry theft and store robbery, Harris faces charges for pawning a weapon stolen from family members.
He received a $20,000 bond on Wiltsie's charges and a March 25 court date.
He has multiple court dates pending in Halifax County for the other charges.
