An Enfield man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the theft of six firearms, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.
Major Scott Hall said in a statement that deputies Phillip Moyer and Dennis Coley responded to a breaking and entering on Highway 301 just outside the Enfield area.
The investigation led the deputies to a neighbor’s home and the neighbor was allegedly identified as the suspect.
Continued investigation led to the recovery of six firearms, two which were stolen from an earlier reported break-in.
The firearms were discovered hidden in the attic of James Walter Williams’ residence.
Williams, 33, of Enfield was charged with two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of larceny of a firearm and two counts of possession of stolen goods. He received a $10,000 bond with a January 15 court date pending.
Investigation is ongoing in this matter.
