Separate search warrants targeting the same person resulted in cocaine trafficking charges against a Roanoke Rapids man and his alleged associates Wednesday.
The first search warrant was executed at a residence on Victory Lane in the West Tenth Street area, which is considered to be the reputed trap house of Travis Manley, 29, where agents of the City County Drug Task Force found the cooking and packaging of crack cocaine under way, Captain A.M. Harris said.
The second search warrant, served shortly before 11:15 p.m. after Manley made bond on the Victory Lane counts, was in the 500 block of Jackson Street where he and his girlfriend maintain a residence.
The execution of the Victory Lane search warrant around 5 p.m. came after a lengthy investigation by Agent D.W. McKeel, which was based on citizen complaints.
During the search of the residence with assistance of Corporal D. Newsome and Deputy C. Sherrod of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, agents seized approximately 56 grams of cocaine, some of which was in the process of being individually wrapped, approximately 167 grams of marijuana, five dosage units of Alprazolam, three dosage units of Oxycodone, a handgun and several items of drug paraphernalia.
The drug paraphernalia consisted of a box of plastic bags, digital scales, a knife, marijuana grinder and a box of baking soda.
McKeel charged Manley with trafficking in cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, simple possession of marijuana and resisting a public officer.
He charged Kevin Ingram, 34, with trafficking in cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance, possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule IV controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Manley and Ingram received $50,000 bonds and March 15 court dates.
McKeel cited Jacobi Gewayne Harvey, 31, of Littleton, with a North Carolina Uniform Citation for possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Harvey received a March 15 court date.
Street value of the cocaine seized is approximately $3,360 and the marijuana is approximately $835.

Meanwhile, after Ingram posted bond, agents went to his residence in the 500 block of Jackson Street where he and his girlfriend, India Judy Barnes, 29, live.
Harris said the Jackson Street residence came to light during McKeel’s investigation of Manley.
There agents, with the assistance of Newsome and his dog, Duri, seized approximately 9 grams of crack cocaine, one growing marijuana plant, two handguns,currency and several items of drug paraphernalia.
The drug paraphernalia included digital scales, a box of plastic bags, two smoking pipes, grow light, heater and a plastic pot.
From that investigation McKeel obtained warrants for the arrest of Manley and Barnes for manufacturing marijuana, possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and possession of drug paraphernalia.
They are encouraged to surrender to law enforcement, Harris said.
Harris said the task force may seek federal adoption of the Manley case. He described Manley as a reputed mid-level drug dealer.
Deputy A. Smith and Roanoke Rapids Police Department Officer J. Spragins assisted with the Jackson Street search warrant.
