KapStone and United Steelworkers 9-0425 collaborated on a holiday public service project to benefit Angel’s Closet.
Roanoke Rapids Mill employees donated $3,500 to Angel’s Closet. The employees raised more than $1,750 at gate greetings and other collections during December which was matched 100 percent by the company.
In addition to the financial contribution, the employees collected non-perishable foods, new and gently used clothing, toys, books and household items to support the mission of Angel’s Closet.
According to Gilbert Portela, founder of Angel’s Closet, the organization serves families in need in Halifax, Northampton and Warren counties as well as surrounding areas.
