
An attempt to steal Christmas presents ended in arrest for an Weldon woman Sunday night as the victims held her to the floor until deputies arrived.
Lieutenant Tim Harris of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that Sergeant Greg Richardson and Deputy Josh Langley responded to a call on Elm Street in Weldon and a found a woman, later identified as Tina Marie Webb, 51, allegedly stealing their Christmas presents.
The victims pinned Webb to the floor until the officers arrived.
Langley charged Webb with breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Webb was taken to the hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries and then jailed on $10,000 bond.
It was unclear what the presents consisted of.
