Davie and Rheasville volunteer firefighters responded to a mobile home fire this afternoon at Up The Creek Road, off Thelma Road.
Davie Volunteer Fire Chief David Padgett said firefighters, who observed smoke and fire on arrival, had the blaze under control within 15 to 20 minutes. It was contained to an east end bedroom and bathroom, although there was smoke damage throughout.
The occupants of the house, which is used as a summer home, had left 25 minutes before the call came in. A neighbor saw smoke coming from the residence and called 911.
Since it is an older doublewide, Padgett could not say whether the mobile home, which is not a primary residence, is salvageable.
Firefighters received the call shortly after 3 p.m. and stayed on the scene until after 5 p.m. A cause has not been determined. There were no injuries.
